未経験から始めるPCバイト選び:後悔しないための僕なりの視点

短期高時給バイト面接攻略術:よくある質問と僕なりの回答例

はじめまして、砂田 颯(すなだ はやて)と申します。現在19歳のフリーターで、横浜市に住んでいます。通信制高校を卒業してから、いくつかの短期バイトを経験してきました。今はメールオペレーターのスキルを独学で磨いている最中で、将来は月収30万円を目標に、在宅ワークで自立したいと考えているんです。

質問1: 「なぜ、この短期バイトを選びましたか?」

この質問って、ただ「お金を稼ぎたいから」って答えるだけじゃ、少し物足りないことが多いんですよね。面接官の方は、僕たちがその仕事にどれくらいの熱意を持っているか、あとは、たとえ短期でも責任感を持って取り組める人なのか、そこを知りたいと思っているはずです。

僕の場合、「学費や生活費を貯めたいので、効率よく稼ぎたいと思っています。中でも、こちらの仕事は〇〇という点で興味を持ちました。」といった形で答えることが多いですね。もしPCを使ったバイトであれば、「普段からPCを触る機会が多く、ブラインドタッチも得意なので、このスキルを活かせる点で魅力を感じました。また、将来的には在宅でPCを使う仕事に就きたいと考えているので、その経験としても積みたいです🎮」と、前向きな姿勢と具体的な理由を伝えるように心がけています。

質問2: 「勤務できる曜日や時間帯は?」

短期バイトって、いつシフトに入れるか、これが一番大事なポイントですよね。会社側としては、必要な時間に、必要なだけ人を確保したいと考えているはずですから、もしここで曖昧な答え方をしてしまうと、せっかくの採用が見送られてしまう可能性もあるかもしれません。

できるだけ具体的に、そして正直に伝えることが大切です。「毎週、火曜日と木曜日の午後から、土曜日は終日勤務可能です」といったように、はっきりと伝えています。もし特定の曜日や時間が難しい場合は、その理由も簡潔に添えると、面接官の方も納得しやすいと思いますよ。「平日の午前中は、将来の目標のために勉強する時間を確保したいので、勤務が難しいです」といった理由なら、むしろ向上心があると評価されるケースもあるんじゃないかな、と。

質問3: 「短期バイトの経験はありますか?」

過去のバイト経験から、僕たちの仕事への姿勢や、持っているスキルを確かめようとしているわけです。もし短期バイトの経験がなくても、別に焦る必要はないと僕は考えています。

僕の場合、2年ほど前、通信制高校に在学中に横浜市内のイベント設営の短期バイトに応募した時の面接で、「短期バイトは初めてです」と正直に伝えました。その時は「初めてで不安な点はありませんか?」と聞かれたので、「新しい環境で働くことには少し緊張しますが、与えられた仕事には真面目に、責任を持って取り組むつもりです。体力には自信がありますので、指示されたことは迅速にこなせます」と、責任感と体力面をアピールしました。結果的に採用されて、時給1,250円で数日間働かせてもらった経験があります。

僕が先ほど話したイベント設営のバイトでは体力面を聞かれましたし、倉庫での仕分けバイト(あの時は時給1,300円でしたね)の面接でも「重い荷物を運ぶことがありますけど、大丈夫ですか?」と聞かれました。正直、体力には自信がある方ではないのですが、ゲームで培った集中力や持続力はあります。PC作業の仕事なら、「普段からPCゲームを長時間プレイしているので、集中力と持続力には自信があります。長時間PCに向かう作業も苦になりませんし、タイピングも得意です📱」と、自分の強みを仕事内容に合わせて伝えるようにしています。

例えば、僕がメルオペ独学を始めたばかりの頃に、データ入力の短期バイトの面接に行った際、PCスキルについて質問がありました。その時に、「毎日PCに向かって勉強していますし、ゲームで鍛えた集中力やタイピング速度は、データ入力のような作業にも必ず活かせるはずです」と、少し緊張しながらも、自分の強みを正直に伝えました。面接官の方は、少し驚いた様子でしたが、真剣に聞いてくださったのを覚えています。

面接官の方々は、必ずしも完璧な人間を求めているわけじゃないんです。それよりも、仕事への真面目さや、周りの人との協調性、そして何よりも「働くぞ」っていう意欲を大事にしていると思います。だから、たとえ少し口下手だとしても、そういった気持ちをちゃんと伝えられたら、きっと良い方向に進むんじゃないかな、と僕は信じています。

最後に、面接当日、僕がいつも心がけていることを、いくつか話させてもらいますね。

まず、身だしなみ。これはすごく大切です。どんなに高時給のバイトでも、だらしない格好で行ってしまうと、第一印象で損をしてしまいますからね。髪型を整えたり、シワのない服を着たりと、基本的なことをしっかりやるだけでも印象は良くなりますよ。

それから、時間は必ず守ること。面接時間の10分前には着いておくのがベストだと思います。万が一、交通機関の遅延などで遅れそうなのであれば、すぐに連絡を入れるのが社会人としてのマナーですよね。僕も以前、電車が遅れてヒヤヒヤしたことがあったんですけど、事前に駅のアプリで遅延情報を確認しておけばよかったな、って思ったものです。何事も、早めの準備と確認が大切なんだな、と。面接って、本当に自分との戦いというか、準備がほとんどな気がしています。そう、まるでゲームの攻略みたいなものですね。今回の話が、誰かの役に立てたら嬉しいな。さて、僕もそろそろメルオペの勉強に戻ろうかな……。
